Are Ghosts Real? Can Ghosts and Spirits Effect Us?

Ghosts and Spirits are a hot topic. There are shows of mediumship like Crossing Over, by John Edwards, and Beyond, with James Van Praagh, which portray men with psychic abilities who are able to communicate with the spirits of those who have died in order to heal and answer questions for the family members they left behind. These shows in themselves have captured a huge audience spreading internationally in syndication, which conveys the widespread interest in the workings of our life process and the mysteries of death and dying.

But as far as explaining what ghosts and spirits are and how they relate to us, I feel these shows pose more questions to mainstream society than they answer.

How is it that someone's dead son is able to communicate to someone still living? Not just that, but the dead son also is said to be standing next to his grandfather who died 20 years before? How is this at all possible?

It is important first to distinguish the terminology here as well. There are many of the same terms being used interchangably and incorrectly.

Firstly, real ghosts can be considered those beings who linger around houses and certain spaces. Of course you have heard someone say a "house is haunted". Such "ghosts" may be those who have passed on, and usually are. Ghosts are often human beings who have died. But may not always be.

Many ghosts and spirits after passing on, die while being emotionally unresolved with someone or something here in the physical world. This may be a cause of why a ghost is present in a particular place. Often, ghosts are those beings who have died tragically. They may have died violently and unrighteously, who stay attached to the area that they died at, or areas where they found the greatest pleasures in their lives. It really depends on the ghosts and spirits of those who passed on, why they would inhabit a particular place or area.

Commonly those who have committed suicide remain tied to the area where they killed themselves. These ghosts may be angry or violent for their supposed untimely death and it is these types of ghosts and spirits who are responsible for what are known as hauntings. They are taking out their rage on those who are around. This accounts for why some ghosts and spirits would cause problems for people who may move into a new house; a house where the dead person lived their whole life. They probably feel, just like they did in life, that the house was their possession and that nobody else should be living there except them.

It is commonly understood among spiritual circles, that just after death, the soul is made to see and relive all of the actions and happenings of their recent life and see the perspective of those that they hurt. It may be during this period of time that a ghost be sighted as it reviews its life within the area that it lived. All spirits will face this "life review" and is known within the major religions as "The Day of Judgement". It happens when you die, and God will decide what it is that will happen to your soul next.

Many times ghosts bother certain people because they want to get their attention. This is often the case in those who are psychically open and sensitive. Another reason a ghost may be attracted to someone is because there was unfinished business between the dead and the still living person. This is common among people with family members who have died.

Ghosts and spirits, as you may know, are also attracted to those they love. In more rare circumstances, it may also be the ghost of a person that is used by evil demonic spirits to haunt someone. Of course you hear sweet stories of ghosts and spirits who have passed on who are acting as guardian angels for others. Not all of them may cause problems.

Ghost spirits may either be harmful or helpful, like everything else. But ghosts and spirits are often used to describe those who have passed on. This is very different than a spirit attachment. Of course, real ghosts may technically become a spirit attachment, meaning the ghost actually attaches itself in your subtle/astral body. Every human being has what is called an astral/subtle body that mimics your physical body, but is made of only spirit. This is where these sorts of attachments takes place, that effects you physically.

In these cases, there is usually harm, because the ghost is trying to live off you and use your living energies for itself. Spirit attachments may also be other worldly beings, those from other dimensions, that also can attach to us in order to suck our energies. It is when ghosts and spirits have attached themselves to you where there is a need to be concerned.

These attachments can also be created by black magicians and they use ghosts and spirits to inflict harm on their victims. In Islam, the term "Jinn is used to describe what I am describing here as "spirit attachments". Often times a black magician sends demons or malevolent spirits to possess and torture their victims, and this is where action must be taken to cure it. This is very different than being effected by ghosts and spirits and is much more serious and life threatening.

So how is this all possible? It is possible because in the spirit realm there is no time and space, here nor there. It just is. To some people, seeing ghosts and spirits is just like seeing someone perfectly alive standing next to them.

Without a doubt ghosts and spirits can effect your life. They should not be feared however, for there are easy ways to eliminate them on your own with the help of proper prayers, if you have taken Jesus Christ. Otherwise, it may be difficult to remove such entitites.

If you suspect that your home may have energies or ghosts and spirits that are uninvited, and it is a new occurence, try the prayer below. In some cases, ghosts and spirits should not be driven out and may be helpful spirits but it is best to treat them as harmful, and if they are good, then they will return.

Prayer: Oh God, please remove all spirits, entities, energies, ghosts, beings, from my home and living space now. Archangels of light, please assist any spirits that need help in crossing over that are residing in my home and life and help them to the Light now. Ghosts and spirits, you are free to go now. You must leave and you have no permission to be here. This is not the place for you now. It is time to go to the Light. in the name of..Jesus, etc. I banish you and bind you to leave now...Oh God, please remove all negativities, energies, ghosts and spirits from my life, through all space, time, and dimension that are harming me and causing problems. Oh God, please protect and bless my home with only the Light of God. Amen. Thank you God for this healing.

If it has gone on for some time, then I suggest repeating this everyday for 21 days, to be sure. 9 days at the minimum. If not, then you can do it every few days. A cleansing of the home should be done daily with these prayers if there are problems. This will keep your home spiritually safe and clear of outside energies.

If ghosts and spirits attach to you, you will have more serious problems. Please see the spirit attachment page. You may not know if it is attached to you, but trying to suffocate you while sleeping or trying to make it so you can't move as you drift to sleep can be signs it is. Often your health may begin to decline, you may start to hear voices, other life blocking troubles, but generally not as serious as those suffering from black magic.

If you feel demons or very evil, dark things are possessing you from black magic being done to you, your situation is a serious one and you should take action toward healing immediately. If anyone has threatened you and said they did black magic on you, believe them and take action.

To everyone with spiritual problems I suggest first using powerful ancient text prayers recited in their original language in your own religion, and if all problems do not cease or worsen, then please consider taking Jesus Christ as your Savior, for he is the only way I know of that can fully eradicate these problems. If you have tried all of this and no change to your condition is made, then it is more important to seek outside help right away.
